Growing pains

Gurlge gurgle *hic*

I have at last finished the essay that has consumed the last few weeks of my life. As a result, I've had a moment of breathing. I'm at home for a few days, and today I ate something more interesting that 99p lasagne, and my body clock did another backflip. So, now I'm back to where started, and there's a poetry portfolio due in on the coming friday.
Fun? Yes.
Sunday is the christening of my nephew, and it's an event that the whole family is gathering together to welcome into the Christian family.
Christian? No.
I am filled with a devout hatred.

The service, now done, was short, boring, and the little guy burst into terrified tears after the whole flicking with the face with oil and water. Honestly, he was only saying what we were all thinking.
I'm glad we got it out the way though, the guests were alright, apparently I did really well with controlling the other side of the family.

Speaking of which though, they brought one of their portugese friends with them. Normally this would just be unwelcome, but the fact that my brother in law's family did so when my sister had refused to let them come is a giant kick in the gonads.

If you ever organise something within this context, explain it's an invitation only event.
Do not make friends with the portugese.
Don't make the contribution too big. It doesn't matter how much money you give them, it's your child's immortal soul at stake, after all.
